Only 11 destinations have the privilege of making the shortlist for the men's professional world surfing championship - which has quite legitimately been renamed the "Dream Tour". Among them, South-West France stands proudly alongside mythical surfing spots in Australia, South Africa and Hawaii. The world's surfing elite appreciates the area's beach breaks, considered to be among the best on the planet, and enthusiastic fans travel in huge numbers to witness what often proves to be a crucial event in the world title showdown.

2008 will be no exception.
